KJCCC Volleyball Teams Load Up On Top 10 Rankings In First NJCAA Volleyball Regular Season Polls

CHARLOTTE, NC – Five Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference volleyball teams have earned rankings inside the top six of the latest NJCAA Division 1 and Division 2 volleyball rankings as six total teams from the conference are ranked in the first regular season polls of the 2025 season.
Able to make the argument as one of the toughest conferences in both NJCAA Division 1 and Division 2 volleyball, the KJCCC has three of the top five teams in the latest NJCAA Division 2 volleyball poll, including top-ranked Cowley College to go along with number two-ranked Kansas City Kansas Community College, and number five-ranked Johnson County Community College. All three teams have been tested in the first two weeks of the regular season by playing matches against ranked opponents and have combined for a 19-2 overall record while having eight of the 21 matches come against teams that are currently ranked. Also ranked in the latest NJCAA Division 2 volleyball rankings is Neosho County holding the number 17 ranking after having two of their five wins come against ranked foes.
In the latest NJCAA Division 1 volleyball rankings, Barton makes one of the biggest moves by climbing up four spots from number nine up to number five after getting out to an 8-2 start this season, while Colby is ranked number six with a 6-2 start of their own to begin 2025. Both the Cougars and Trojans have been tested in the opening weeks of the season, with three of the four combined losses for the past two Region 6 champions coming against teams that are ranked in the latest NJCAA Division 1 Volleyball Top 20 poll. Receiving votes in the poll after starting the year unranked is Butler Community College as the Grizzlies have been tested throughout their first eight matches with a win over number-eight Salt Lake while having all three of their losses come against ranked teams.
Fans wanting to catch the action within the conference have no shortage of opportunities this week as 47 matches will take place between now and Saturday evening. Conference play will begin for KJCCC D2 volleyball teams on Wednesday, along with KJCCC D1 volleyball conference play continuing as all eight matches taking place on September 3rd will count towards each team’s respective conference standings.
