NJCAA Volleyball Week 6 Polls Feature 6 KJCCC Teams, Five Ranked In Top 12

CHARLOTTE, NC – Combining to go a perfect 12-0 last week, six Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference volleyball teams have either maintained their previous week’s ranking or moved up the rankings in the latest NJCAA Division 1 and Division 2 volleyball polls released on Monday, October 6th.
Of the six teams from the KJCCC that are ranked this week, four maintained their rankings from the prior week while two moved up one spot each as the conference has five of their six ranked teams currently holding top 12 rankings.
Among the teams that maintained their rankings from the prior week is the top two teams in the latest NJCAA Division 2 volleyball top 25 poll as both Cowley College and Kansas City Kansas Community College kept their unbeaten records intact as the Tigers are now a perfect 21-0 while the Blue Devils are 17-0 heading into this week’s action. Staying home last week and recording 3-0 sweeps of both Coffeyville and Highland, Johnson County Community College moved up one spot to number eight in this week’s poll as did Neosho County as the Panthers used wins over Rose State College and Labette to move up one spot from number 17 up to number 16 in this week’s poll.
Both of the ranked KJCCC teams in the NJCAA Division 1 top 20 poll remained unchanged from a week ago as Colby held their number 11 ranking and Barton remains ranked number 12 as the two teams combined to go a perfect 4-0 in KJCCC play last week. The Trojans earned a sweep over Pratt followed by a five-set victory over Garden City while the Cougars downed Cloud County in three sets before grinding out a five-set win over Hutchinson to close out their week.
Action each of the next five days awaits the conference, beginning on Monday afternoon when Pratt plays a pair of non-conference matches to kick off a 32-match week across the conference. Battles between ranked teams will begin on Tuesday evening when D2 number one Cowley hosts D2 number 16 Neosho County before seeing Cowley, Kansas City Kansas, and Johnson County all head to Normal, IL over the weekend for the Heartland Community College Invitational that will feature multiple matches between ranked foes.
