2025 KJCCC D1 Volleyball Players of the Week - Week 6
COLBY, Kan. – Strong weeks by both Colby Community College and Barton Community College within Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference play have led to KJCCC D1 Volleyball Player of the Week honors for Trojan players Ella Dridi and Amanda Caputi, along with Cougar Mina Kaneko.
Ella Dridi (Colby) - KJCCC D1 Volleyball Player of the Week
Colby outside hitter Ella Dridi delivered a huge week for the Trojans, highlighted by an explosive performance in a five-set win over number eight Barton. Dridi went off for 23 kills on 54 swings, hitting .315 while adding 17 digs and three service aces to lead Colby to victory over the defending Region 6 Champions. The freshman followed it up with another strong outing against Seward County, posting 13 kills on a .360 clip, along with seven digs and three more service aces. For the week, Dridi averaged 4.00 kills per set, hit .329 across 79 total attacks, and totaled 42.5 points (4.7 per set).
Amanda Caputi (Colby) – KJCCC D1 Volleyball Setter of the Week
Colby setter Amanda Caputi was outstanding in guiding the Trojans' offense to a pair of key conference wins, including a five-set win over number eight Barton in a battle of the top two teams in the conference. Across two matches and nine sets, Caputi dished out 105 total assists, averaging an impressive 11.67 per set, while also adding 22 digs (2.44 per set) and 11 blocks (1.22 per set). Against Barton, Caputi handed out 62 assists, including the 2,000th of her career, while adding 13 digs and 7 block assists in a complete all-around performance. The sophomore followed her effort against the Cougars with 43 assists, nine digs, and four blocks in the victory over Seward County.
Mina Kaneko (Barton) – KJCCC D1 Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week
Sophomore libero Mina Kaneko anchored number eight Barton's defense with 64 digs across 12 sets, averaging 5.33 per set while adding 12 assists and a service ace in three road matches for the Cougars. Kaneko opened the week with 14 digs in a sweep at Pratt, posted 26 digs in a five-set battle at number 12 Colby, and then concluded the week by adding 24 digs in a four-set win at Garden City.
