Sophomore Jai Chapman had a strong week for the No. 20 Blue Dragons as Hutch wrapped up the 2015 Jayhawk West title. For the week, Chapman averaged 3.67 kills in six sets and hit .409 for the week. She also averaged 4.50 digs per set. Chapman posted her 12th double-double of the season against Barton with 13 kills on .545 hitting and 10 digs. She had nine kills and a match-up 17 digs against Colby two days later.
Viviane Viana came up big for the Seward County Lady Saints in their final week of regular season competition this week, averaging 2.88 kills and 1.88 digs per set while hitting .512 in two Seward wins. Monday on the road at Cloud County, Viana hammered down 11 kills on 20 swings in a 3-2 Lady Saints win. Thursday she backed that up with a nearly identical line with 12 kills on 21 attacks, good for a .524 hitting efficiency mark in a 3-0 sweep of Barton.
Freshman middle hitter Johanna Voss, Hutchinson, had a big impact defensively at the net for the Blue Dragons in two victories last week. She had 10 total blocks in six sets played, averaging 1.67 blocks per set. She had 1 solo and 5 block assists against Barton and 1 solo and 3 block assists against Colby. Voss also had numerous touches to help HCC dominate its two opponents last week.
