Maja Jankovic notched her 314th dig of her debut season at Colby this week, marking 22 digs in the 5 set come from behind win against Barton. Jankovic is 5th in the nation in digs per set at 6.54. She also had 2 assists and 2 aces to help the Lady Trojans get the win.
Sophomore Aubrey Wilson had another steady week in leading the No. 7 Hutchinson Blue Dragons to a 3-0 week with three conference victories as a right-side hitter and setter. Offensively, Wilson hit .467 on 45 swings with only two errors. She averaged 2.56 kills per set with a high of 10 kills on .438 hitting in a sweep of Butler. She averaged 1.33 blocks per set, matching a weekly high of five against both Cloud County and Butler. As a setter, Wilson averaged 4.44 assists per set with a high of 14 against Butler.
Seward sophomore Megan Sharratt rose to the occasion in a big way for the Lady Saints this week, leading them to four wins including a five set victory over former #13 Western Wyoming. Monday against Garden City, Sharratt was unstoppable in the middle for Seward, finishing with 9 kills and 0 errors on 16 swings in a 3-0 Seward sweep. Friday she turned things up on the other side of the net, combining for 15 blocks in two Seward matches while also recording 22 kills against Laramie County and Western Wyoming. She finished the Wyo-Braska Shootout with 12 kills in a sweep of Central Wyoming, giving Seward their first winning weekend at the tournament since the 2008 season.
