NJCAA Women's Soccer Week 6 Rankings See KJCCC Teams Maintain Spots In Polls
NJCAA Division 1 Women's Soccer Poll | NJCAA Division 2 Women's Soccer Poll
CHARLOTTE, NC – Top teams in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference women’s soccer standings held their ground last week, both in the conference and on the National Stage, as four conference teams have maintained their spots within the latest NJCAA Division 1 and Division 2 Women’s Soccer Top 20 polls.
Of the four teams featured in this week’s rankings, three are ranked with a fourth receiving votes for a second-straight week with three of the four teams holding their same spot in the rankings as the prior week.
Following a minor change in last week’s NJCAA Division 2 Women’s Soccer top 20 poll for the KJCCC, both Johnson County and Kansas City Kansas hold their respective rankings this week as the Cavaliers maintain their number two ranking while KCKCC is ranked number 11. JCCC went 2-0-0 last week, with a win over previously number five-ranked St. Charles Community College along with a win over Allen while the Blue Devils picked up wins over Southeast Community College and Pratt to finish the week 2-0-0. Both have four matches left ahead of their regular-season finale against one another as the Cavaliers won the first match of the season by a score of 2-0 in Overland Park.
One minor change occurred for the KJCCC in this week’s Division 1 Women’s Soccer Top 20 poll, with Cowley College dropping one spot to the number seven ranking after ascending to the number six spot last week after earning a road win at Coffeyville before playing to a 2-2 draw with Hutchinson. The Blue Dragons, meanwhile, continue to receive votes in the NJCAA Division 1 top 20 poll after earning a 2-0 home win over Barton followed by their tie at Cowley to sit at 6-2-2 overall this season with seven matches remaining.
Conference play continues across both the KJCCC D1 and D2 women’s soccer landscape this week, beginning on Wednesday, as eight matches will take place across the league. With no matchup featuring two ranked teams playing against each other this week, conference standings have the potential to take form ahead of postseason play, which is slated to start in less than a month.
