Three KJCCC Teams Ranked In 2025-26 NJCAA Wrestling Poll Number Two

CHARLOTTE, NC – With less than one month remaining in the NJCAA men’s wrestling regular season, the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference has three teams ranked in the second NJCAA Men’s Wrestling Top 20 poll released on Thursday, January 29th.
All three teams ranked in the top 20 from the KJCCC are currently within the top three of the conference standings following the first three weeks of conference dual action, with Pratt Community College leading the way in the rankings with the number eight team ranking. Current KJCCC leader Cowley College is ranked number 11 with 20 total points, just seven points back of the Beavers, while Fort Hays Tech Northwest also appears in the poll with six total points to be ranked 19th. The three teams combine for seven ranked wrestlers across the 10 weight classes, with Pratt having a conference-high four wrestlers ranked.
As for individual weight class rankings, the conference has ranked wrestlers in eight of the 10 weight classes, with nine wrestlers from the KJCCC in the top 10 of their respective weight classes. Starting at 125 pounds, the KJCCC has the number five-ranked wrestler (Ernest Grant – Fort Hays Tech) and number eight-ranked wrestler (Zane Donley – Pratt), as the Beavers also have the number seven-ranked wrestler at 133 pounds (Matt Long). Cowley’s first of two ranked wrestlers comes at 141 pounds, with number two-ranked Evan Rodriguez, while also having the number four-ranked wrestler at 174 pounds (Jaxon Trotter). Pratt also has a wrestler ranked number two in his respective weight class, with Jacob Goodwin at 157 pounds, and Preston Hagel ranked fourth at 197 pounds. Other teams to have ranked wrestlers include Labette (Kyle Tabor, ninth at 149 pounds) and Cloud County (Brayden Hill, 10th at 285 pounds).
The final week of the KJCCC conference dual schedule is set to take place next week, with Cloud County hosting Pratt and Labette in a tri-dual, Barton hosting Neosho County and Cowley in a tri-dual, and Colby hosting Fort Hays Tech in a single dual. Looking ahead, the 2026 South Central District Championship Tournament, which will be hosted by Pratt, will take place on Saturday, February 14th.
