Final NJCAA Softball Polls Of Regular Season Featuring Three KJCCC Teams Released
NJCAA Division 2 Softball Week 11 Poll
CHARLOTTE, NC – With postseason play set to begin this week, the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has released the final NJCAA Softball Top 25 polls of the regular season, featuring one ranked team from the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference and two more teams from the league receiving votes.
The 11th and final poll of the season has no changes for KJCCC schools compared to last week’s poll, with Johnson County being ranked in the top 15 and both Kansas City Kansas, and Cowley receiving votes for a second-straight week. All three teams from the KJCCC that are featured in the poll are top three seeds in the 2026 NJCAA Division 2 Softball Plains District Tournament, led by number 15-ranked and KJCCC D2 softball regular season champions Johnson County, while Cowley is the number two seed, and Kansas City Kansas is the number three seed in this week’s eight-team double-elimination tournament. JCCC earned its fourth KJCCC D2 softball crown in the past five seasons with a home sweep of Independence to conclude the regular season last Saturday, while Cowley swept Neosho County at home and split with Cloud County on the road to go 3-1 last week. Kansas City Kansas, meanwhile, was able to sweep a road doubleheader over Independence before splitting with Coffeyville to conclude their regular season.
Both the NJCAA Division 1 and Division 2 Softball Plains District Tournaments are set for this week in the Sunflower State, with the Division 2 tournament set to lead things off with games starting Wednesday morning in Overland Park on the campus of Johnson County Community College. The top-seeded Cavaliers are joined by Cowley, Kansas City Kansas, Allen, Labette, Cloud County, Neosho County, and Coffeyville in the tournament that is slated to run through Sunday, while the NJCAA Division 1 Softball Plains District Tournament will begin on Friday afternoon in Dodge City and run through Monday. KJCCC D1 softball regular season champions Hutchinson are joined in Dodge City by Butler, Dodge City, Colby, Barton, Garden City, Seward County, and Pratt in the double-elimination tournament as the winner of both tournaments will receive automatic berths into their respective NJCAA Softball World Series.
