Johnson County sophomore outfielder Taryn Burkhardt hit at a .636 clip last week (7-for-11) while leading the Lady Cavaliers to sweeps over Coffeyville and Kansas City Kansas to help insure a share of the D-II KJCCC title. The highlight of the week came in the second game at Coffeyville. Burkhardt hit for the cycle, collecting a single, double, triple and home run in the same game. She also scored twice and drove in three. For the week she scored five total runs, walked three times and stole three bases. For the season, Burkhardt is batting .500 (54-for-108), which ranks tied for third in the conference. She also ranks third with 37 stolen bases.

KJCCC Division II Softball Pitcher of the Week

Johnson County freshman right-hand pitcher Maggie McNally earned two complete-game victories last week, helping the Lady Cavaliers earn a share of the D-II KJCCC conference title. In her 13 innings of work, she scattered nine hits, allowing just one unearned run while strikeout out 16 batters. She opened the week with a two- hit shutout at Coffeyville and followed with 10 strikeouts in a 7-1 win over Kansas City Kansas. It was her fourth double-digit strikeout effort of the season.
