2023 KJCCC Softball Division I Athletes of the Week, Wk. 10
Player of the Week: Ryanna Valdivia (Butler)
Ryanna Valdivia, Butler Softball's sophomore third baseman from Omaha, NE had another great week for the Grizzlies in their four games of conference action. Butler softball began the week with a home double header with Dodge City in which Valdivia had an outstanding three home runs on the day, totaling six RBIs, and had a 1.000 hitting percentage in game two after a 0.667 average in game one. In the home series with #15 Hutchinson Ryanna was one for two in game one with one RBI for a 0.500 average and hit a double in the game two 9-1 run-rule victory. Valdivia had 7 RBIs on the week with a 0.545 average (6/11). In the field, she had six put outs with three assists. Ryanna is leading the conference in homeruns this season with eleven and currently sits at third in RBI's just four behind the first-place spot.

Pitchers of the Week: Allyson Montgomery (Colby)
Allyson Montgomery, Butler Softball's sophomore pitcher from Goddard, Kansas had another incredible week in the circle for the Grizzlies in their four conference games this week. Montgomery made three starts in just two days, throwing fifteen innings and giving up only two runs on eight hits with twenty-six strikeouts. Allyson's most outstanding game was against Dodge City in which she threw a compete game giving up no runs on only three hits with no walks and an amazing eighteen strikeouts. This eighteen-strikeout game sets a new program record as Montgomery tied the previous record of seventeen strikeouts earlier this year. Allyson is first in the KJCCC in strikeouts this season with 147 and is second in both wins with fifteen, and ERA at 2.21. The Grizzlies' ace leads the pitching staff in wins (15), total strikeouts (147), innings pitched (98.0), and ERA (2.21).
