2023 KJCCC Softball Division I Athletes of the Week, Wk. 8
Player of the Week: Aspen Goetz (Hutchinson)
Blue Dragon first baseman Aspen Goetz broke two single-game program records and tied three others in an offensive explosion against Seward County. For the week, the Blue Dragon sophomore hit .688 (11 for 16) with four homers, 11 runs scored and 17 RBIs. She slugged 1,652 and had an on-base percentage of .722. In Game 1, a 28-2 five-inning win over Seward County, Goetz was 6 for 6 with three home runs, two doubles and 10 RBIs. The six hits, three homers and five runs scored tied single-game records while the 10 RBIs and 17 total bases were new single-game records. Goetz had hits and drove in runs in each of Hutchinson's four games last week.

Pitchers of the Week: Jessica Morgan (Barton)
Sophomore Jessica Morgan struck out eleven or more in three outings this week improving to 7-2 on the year. Entering in relief of the first inning of game one versus Hesston, Morgan struck out three in the frame before going on to scatter five hits in finishing with eleven strikeouts to earn the victory. On Wednesday Morgan picked up the game two victory over Dodge City in matching her season high eleven in scattering three hits then on Saturday surpassed the season best with 12 strikeouts in the five-inning two-hitter. On the week, Morgan struck out 34, scattered ten hits, surrendered just two walks and two earned runs in the 17 innings pitched while going 3-of-6 from the plate with three RBIs and her first home run of the season.
