Five KJCCC Men's Soccer Teams Remain Ranked, Four See New Rankings In Week 6 NJCAA Polls
NJCAA Division 1 Men's Soccer Poll | NJCAA Division 2 Men's Soccer Poll
CHARLOTTE, NC – With two teams moving up in the polls and two teams dropping a spot, the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference continues to have five ranked teams in the latest NJCAA Division 1 and Division 2 Men’s Soccer polls.
The week six polls find three teams from the conference ranked in the top 10, including a pair of top five teams as two of the three representatives in the D1 poll move up the rankings, while both of the D2 ranked teams fell one spot each.
Looking at this week’s ranked D1 teams, Cowley maintains their number three ranking to continue as the highest ranked team from the KJCCC in either of the two polls after playing to a 2-2 draw at Coffeyville before earning a 1-0 road win over previously number seven-ranked Indian Hills Community College last Saturday. With Indian Hills dropping two spots down to ninth, Barton Community College takes advantage of the change by moving up one spot to number eight after defeating Western Nebraska 4-0 and Seward County 4-1 last week to improve to 8-3-2 overall as the Cougars are still very much in the thick of the KJCCC men’s soccer hunt. Dodge City also made a move up the rankings, moving up to number 13 after spending last week with the number 15 ranking as the Conquistadors won 4-0 at Trinidad State before playing to a 1-1 tie against Coffeyville.
Despite two victories to run their winning streak to seven consecutive matches, Neosho County fell one spot in the latest NJCAA Division 2 poll to swap spots with Pima Community College as the Panthers remain unbeaten this year with a 9-0-2 record. Also in this week’s rankings from the KJCCC is number 15 Johnson County Community College as the Cavaliers fell one spot following a pair of road wins last week to improve to 8-3-3 overall.
A non-conference matchup between Coffeyville and Crowder College on Monday afternoon kicks off this week’s KJCCC soccer schedule, followed by a ranked matchup between number 15 Johnson County and number 18 Central Community College on Tuesday evening. Wednesday will see two of ranked KJCCC teams travel for conference contests ahead of a busy weekend that will see Dodge City play Indian Hills in a ranked, neutral-site contest and Johnson County host Neosho County in a ranked matchup in D2 action.
