Ranked Non-Conference Matchups Cause Changes For Two KJCCC Men's Soccer Teams In Latest NJCAA Rankings
NJCAA Division 1 Men's Soccer Poll | NJCAA Division 2 Men's Soccer Poll
CHARLOTTE, NC – Non-conference matchups between teams from NJCAA Region 6 and NJCAA Region 11 have led to rankings changes for two Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference schools as part of the latest NJCAA Division 1 and Division 2 men’s soccer rankings.
All five teams that were ranked last week once again are ranked this week, with three conference teams continuing to hold top 10 rankings as part of their respective polls.
Earning a 2-0 home win in their only match of the week last week, Cowley College held steady at number three in the latest Division 1 poll while Barton Community College is unchanged with the number eight ranking. The Tigers picked up a win over Seward County while the Cougars earned a 6-1 road win at Garden City to remain in the hunt for the KJCCC D1 men’s soccer regular season title. The lone change for the KJCCC within the D1 poll came courtesy of Dodge City Community College, as the Conquistadors bounced back from a road defeat at Garden City by earning a neutral-site win over Indian Hills Community College to move up two spots up to number 11 in the rankings.
The other change for KJCCC schools came in the latest NJCAA Division 2 men’s soccer rankings as Johnson County went 0-1-1 against ranked teams last week after dropping a 2-0 decision to Central Community College and earning a 2-2 tie against Neosho County. The loss caused the Cavaliers to fall one spot down to number 16 while seeing Central move up from number 18 to number 15, while Neosho County is unchanged from last week’s number five ranking after earning a win over Pratt, followed by the draw against JCCC.
More ranked matchups are on the schedule for this week across the KJCCC, with Barton Community College playing host to both Dodge City and Cowley this week as part of a week that is sure to affect the KJCCC D1 men’s soccer standings. In D2 play, both Neosho County and Johnson County will take on Southeast Community College in NJCAA Region 6/9 play, while the Cavaliers will travel to Pratt, and Neosho County will host Kansas City Kansas, in their other game during the week. Following the week’s action, just one week will remain in the regular season ahead of the start of postseason play, which kicks off at the end of the month.
