KJCCC Men's Soccer Goalies Sweep NJCAA Weekly Honors
CHARLOTTE, NC – Leading their teams to wins over top 10 opponents last week in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference play, Dodge City Community College men’s soccer goalkeeper Giovanni De Luna and Neosho County men’s soccer goalkeeper Josh Bogan have both earned NJCAA Men’s Soccer Goalie of the Week accolades for the first time this season.
Geovanni De Luna (Dodge City) – NJCAA D1 Men’s Soccer Goalie of the Week
Dodge City men's soccer remained unbeaten on the season with a 2-1 win over number six Barton in their only match of the week last week. Geovanni De Luna recorded eight big saves with five in the second half as the Conquistadors kept Barton off the scoreboard in the second half to earn the KJCCC win.
Josh Bogan (Neosho County) – NJCAA D2 Men’s Soccer Goalie of the Week
Bogan played a key role in both of number four-ranked Neosho County’s wins last week as the Panthers improved to 6-0-2 on the season with wins over number nine Johnson County and Southeast Community College. Against the ninth-ranked Cavaliers, Bogan turned away eight shots to help NCCC to a 2-0 win in a battle of top teams in the KJCCC before posting a second-straight shutout with nine more saves against Southeast to pick up his third clean sheet of the year.
