COLBY, Kan. – Leading Barton Community College to a pair of wins over ranked opponents to take over the top spot in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference standings, Cougar players Masaki Tsuji and Gabriel Bergamin have each been named KJCCC D1 Men’s Soccer Players of the Week.  

Masaki Tsuji (Barton) – KJCCC D1 Men’s Soccer Player of the Week
Masaki Tsuji came through in clutch moments for number eight Barton, delivering both game-winning goals in a pair of top 15 victories last week. The freshman midfielder opened the week scoring the decisive strike in Wednesday's 3-2 win over number 11 Dodge City, before netting the lone goal in Saturday's 1-0 upset over number three Cowley to give the Cougars possession of first place in the KJCCC standings. For the week, Tsuji took nine shots and placed five on goal while helping the Cougars extend their winning streak to six straight matches.

Gabriel Bergamin (Barton) – KJCCC D1 Men’s Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week
Sophomore goalkeeper Gabriel Bergamin delivered a clutch performance in his lone appearance of the week, posting a two-save shutout to help number eight Barton knock off number three Cowley College, 1-0. Making his eighth start of the season, Bergamin turned aside both shots faced to anchor the Cougar backline in handling the Tigers their first loss of the year.
