COLBY, Kan. – Nationally-ranked teams Barton Community College and Dodge City Community College each got big games from players Angel Sainz and Geovanni De Luna as the duo has been named Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division 1 Men’s Soccer Players of the Week.

Angel Sainz (Barton) – KJCCC D1 Men’s Soccer Player of the Week
Angel Sainz made the most of his opportunities this week, delivering four goals across Barton's pair of victories to start the week. After limited action in a 3-1 win over Garden City, the freshman erupted for all four goals in a 4-0 road victory at Lamar Community College. Sainz recorded his first collegiate hat trick before capping the performance with a fourth tally. He closed the week with eight points, a perfect 1.000 shooting percentage, and the game-winner in the Lamar victory.

Geovanni De Luna (Dodge City) – KJCCC D1 Men’s Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week
Dodge City men's soccer remained unbeaten on the season with a 2-1 win over number six Barton in their only match of the week last week. Geovanni De Luna recorded eight big saves with five in the second half as the Conquistadors kept Barton off the scoreboard in the second half to earn the KJCCC win.
