COLBY, Kan. Wins over Seward County last week for Cowley College and Barton Community College featured key performances from this week’s Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division 1 Men’s Soccer Player of the Week honorees Kanta Ishii and Gabriel Bergamin.

Kanta Ishii (Cowley) – KJCCC D1 Men’s Soccer Player of the Week
Cowley remained unbeaten on the year, earning a 3-1 win over Seward County with sophomore forward Kanta Ishii having a role in all three goals. After assisting on a pair of first-half goals to put the Tigers up 2-1 heading into the break, Ishii gave Cowley a 3-1 lead just four minutes into the second half as Seward County would be limited to just two shots in the second half. This season, Cowley is 3-0-0 and has allowed just one goal while outscoring opponents 12-1.

Gabriel Bergamin (Barton) – KJCCC D1 Men’s Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week
After being sidelined by an early-season injury, Gabriel Bergamin made a strong return in number nine Barton's 4-0 road win at Seward County. The sophomore goalkeeper played nearly 72 minutes, stopping the only shot he faced to help secure Barton's second shutout of the season.
