KJCCC Men's Basketball Teams Remain Relatively Unchanged In Latest NJCAA Rankings
NJCAA Division 1 Men’s Basketball Week 11 Poll | NJCAA Division 2 Men’s Basketball Week 11 Poll
CHARLOTTE, NC – Following another busy week of play throughout the Sunflower State, the latest NJCAA Division 1 and Division 2 Men’s Basketball Top 25 polls feature minimal change for Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference schools.
In the latest rendition of the rankings, three teams from the conference have secured spots in the polls with a fourth receiving votes, as all four teams are among the leaders of their respective KJCCC standings. Both ranked teams in the NJCAA Division 1 Top 25 poll moved up the rankings following unbeaten weeks, while there were no changes for Johnson County in the latest NJCAA Division 2 poll.
Two more wins for Johnson County Community College keeps the Cavaliers unbeaten and ranked number three this week as JCCC ran their record to 22-0 this season with wins at Neosho County and at home over Allen. 16 of the 22 wins for the Cavaliers have come at home this season, with four of their final seven games set to take place away from home.
After weeks of shifting and moving among KJCCC Division 1 teams in the NJCAA rankings, things have finally solidified from one week to the next as Butler Community College remains the highest-ranked team of the three ranked teams by moving up four spots from number 19 to number 15 in this week’s poll. The Grizzlies took down Pratt at home by a score of 98-87 before surviving a road test at Fort Hays Tech Northwest in a 99-97 road win last week to improve to 16-6 overall and 12-4 in the KJCCC. Playing just one game last week and overcoming a 17-point deficit in a 103-95 home win over Cloud County, Dodge City is up three spots this week to number 19 in the rankings with a 14-7 overall record. Seward County split their two games last week, falling on the road 73-71 at Coffeyville before bouncing back with a 73-57 home win over Hutchinson to be among a group of eight teams just outside the top 25 and receiving votes.
Two games on Monday night will get the week going as Highland will travel to Labette, and Neosho County will be playing at Allen in Division 2 action to make up games that were originally scheduled for January 24th. A top 25 matchup between Johnson County and North Central Missouri is slated for Tuesday night in Trenton, Missouri, before nine games on the schedule on Wednesday night which includes a battle between the two highest-scoring offenses in the KJCCC when Butler hosts Garden City. Action will then resume on Saturday with nine more games taking place across the conference, with Coffeyville traveling to Dodge City and Johnson County hosting Highland as the only ranked teams in action. Sunday will finish out the week’s action with Seward County making the trip north to Fort Hays Tech Northwest in a rare Sunday tilt.
