Four KJCCC Men's Basketball Teams Ranked Or Receiving Votes In Final Regular Season NJCAA Rankings Of Season
NJCAA Division 1 Men’s Basketball Week 14 Poll | NJCAA Division 2 Men’s Basketball Week 14 Poll
CHARLOTTE, NC – With postseason play starting next week, the final NJCAA Division 1 and Division 2 Men’s Basketball regular season top 25 polls of the 2025-26 season have been released and feature four Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference teams ranked or receiving votes.
Johnson County is once again the highest-ranked KJCCC team in either of the two polls, with the Cavaliers clinching a KJCCC Division 2 regular season title last Wednesday night with a win over Fort Scott, followed by a win over Neosho County to run their record to a perfect 28-0. JCCC will finish its regular season schedule on Wednesday with a road game at Allen and will look to finish a perfect regular season record before having nine days off after having clinched a bye into the NJCAA Division 2 Region 6 Tournament semifinal round on Friday, March 6th.
Following a battle of the top two teams in the KJCCC Division 1 standings last week, Barton Community College has taken over as the highest-ranked team by checking in at number 17 in this week’s rankings after extending its winning streak to eight straight games with a road win over Butler, followed by a home win over Independence. Butler, meanwhile, remains atop the KJCCC D1 standings and holds a half-game lead over Barton in the standings after bouncing back from their home loss to Barton with a road win at Cowley to be ranked number 19 this week heading into their final three games of the regular season. After re-entering the rankings last week at number 23, Coffeyville split games against Colby Community College and Hutchinson Community College to remain among a list of 11 teams just outside the top 25 receiving votes.
Very little has been determined for the upcoming NJCAA Region 6 Men’s Basketball Tournaments as play heads into the final 10 days of the regular season for Division 1 teams and the final week of competition for Division 2 schools. A nine-game schedule set for Wednesday night is likely to have massive implications for seeding as four KJCCC Division 2 teams are still alive for two spots to host a first-round home NJCAA Region 6 Men’s Basketball home playoff game, while the Division 1 standings see the third through eighth-place teams all separated by a total of one game in the standings. The final three games of the KJCCC Division 2 regular season will take place on Saturday afternoon alongside another six games in KJCCC Division 1 play before seeing the Division 1 regular season come to a close next Wednesday evening.
