2025-26 KJCCC Men's Basketball Players of the Week - Week 7
COLBY, Kan. – Following wins to end the month of December for Seward County Community College and Highland Community College, Saint guard Antonio Williams Jr. and Scottie sophomore Tavian Tate are your week seven Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Men’s Basketball Players of the Week.
Antonio Williams Jr. – Seward County (KJCCC Division 1 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week)
Freshman guard Antonio Williams Jr. helped lead Seward County to back-to-back wins, one at Garden City on Wednesday followed by a home win over number 18-ranked Butler on Saturday. On Wednesday, Williams poured in a season-high 33 points, shooting a perfect 13-13 from the free throw line to go along with five rebounds and three assists as the Saints erased a 21-point second-half deficit, ultimately winning 92-90. Williams Jr. again topped 30 points on Saturday, finishing with 32 points and three assists while shooting 19-20 from the charity stripe in a 130-110 win over Butler. Williams Jr. and the Saints have won five consecutive games and head into the semester break atop the KJCCC standings with a 6-2 mark.
Tavian Tate – Highland (KJCCC Division 2 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week)
Tate had a strong week for Highland, helping the Scotties bounce back from an overtime loss to number 11 North Central Missouri College with a 95-74 route at Jefferson College. Against the Pirates, Tate played all 45 minutes and scored a team-high 18 points while grabbing six rebounds to go along with three assists and three steals. Three days later, Tate scored a game-high 23 points while adding seven rebounds, three assists, and three steals in the road win to finish out the month of December. This season, Tate is averaging 19.8 points per game (second-best in the KJCCC) and is shooting nearly 50 percent from the floor through 13 games.
