2025-26 KJCCC Men's Basketball Players of the Week - Week 3
COLBY, Kan. – Putting up giant offensive numbers with efficient shooting, Dodge City Community College guard Derrick Rivers and Fort Scott Community College forward Noah Porter have each been named the week three Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Men’s Basketball Players of the Week.
Derrick Rivers – Dodge City (KJCCC Division 1 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week)
Dodge City wrapped up non-conference play by splitting a pair of games with a big road win over number two South Plains and a road loss to Frank Phillips. Derrick Rivers continued his strong start to the season, pouring out 32 points on 8-19 shooting and 15-18 free throws in the road win over South Plains while adding eight rebounds, three assists, and two steals. The sophomore capped the week with a 21-point outing against Frank Phillips, going 9-12 from the charity stripe and grabbing three rebounds, while dishing out five assists.
Noah Porter – Fort Scott (KJCCC Division 2 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week)
Porter put up a monster week for the Greyhounds at the North Arkansas College Classic, averaging 36 points per game while shooting 72 percent from the floor and securing his fourth double-double of the season. Opening the weekend against NJCAA D1 Redlands Community College, Porter had a 23-point, 10-rebound double-double while adding three blocks and one steal in a 95-85 defeat to the Cougars. The next day against host North Arkansas College, Porter went off for a game-high 49 points before fouling out late in the game and added five rebounds, two assists, and two steals. This season, Porter has scored in double-figures in seven of eight games played and is currently 18th in NJCAA D2 in scoring average with 23.1 points per game while averaging an astounding 55.7 points per 40 minutes.
