KJCCC Announces Locations, Dates For Remaining Winter and Spring 2026 Championships
COLBY, Kan. – Following a meeting of the Presidents and Athletic Directors of all 20 Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference schools, locations and dates have been finalized for all remaining KJCCC/NJCAA Region 6 Winter and Spring Championships.
Included in the finalized locations that had not previously been announced was the location of the 2026 NJCAA Division 1 Plains District Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournament semifinals and finals, which will be hosted on the campus of Barton Community College, and the 2026 NJCAA Division 2 Softball Plains District Tournament, which will be held at Johnson County Community College for a second-straight season.
The 2026 winter championship season will kick off on Saturday, February 14th with the NJCAA West-Central District Wrestling Championships, which will be held inside the Dennis Lesh Sports Arena on the campus of Pratt Community College, followed by the NJCAA Region 6 Indoor Track and Field Championships, which will once again be held inside the Robert W. Plaster Center in Pittsburg on February 21st and 22nd.
Following a weekend with no championship events, the KJCCC/Region 6 will then see Kansas City Kansas Community College and Breidenthal Court play host to the NJCAA Division 2 Men’s and Women’s Basketball Plains District Tournament semifinals and finals March 6-7 before seeing a newly renovated Kirkman Center in Great Bend play host to the NJCAA Division 1 Men’s and Women’s Basketball Plains District Tournament semifinals and finals March 13-14.
Spring Championships will begin on April 27th and 28th, with two championship events taking place simultaneously as Sugar Hills Golf Course in Goodland, Kansas will play host to the 2026 NJCAA Division 1 Women’s Golf Plains District Tournament while Rivercut Golf Course in Springfield, Missouri will serve as host to the 2026 NJCAA Division 1 Men’s Golf Central District Championship.
The 2026 NJCAA Region 6 Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be held April 30-May 2 at the Mark A. Phillips Track and Field Complex in Arkansas City, Kansas and be followed by the NJCAA Division 2 Plains District Softball Tournament in Overland Park May 6-10. Taking place the same weekend as the Division 2 Softball Tournament will be the NJCAA Division 1 Softball Plains District Tournament at Legends Park in Dodge City, Kansas, before seeing the championship schedule conclude the following week when the NJCAA Division 1 Baseball Plains District Baseball Tournament returns to Eck Stadium in Wichita, Kansas for the third time in the past four years.
