CHARLOTTE, NC – Leading the Garden City Community College football team to a 35-7 home win last Saturday over Independence with two interceptions and a 36-yard pick-six, Broncbuster safety Asher Horn has been named the NJCAA Division 1 Football Defensive Player of the Week.

Horn had two interceptions on Saturday, including a 36-yard pick-six that put the number eight-ranked Broncbusters up 21-7 in an eventual 35-7 win over Independence. Horn also had an interception with the Pirates driving into Garden City territory early in the fourth quarter to help turn away an Independence drive and end any chances of a comeback. The sophomore also recorded six tackles, including one tackle for loss, and had one pass breakup.
