2025 KJCCC Football Players of the Week - Week 2
COLBY, Kan. – Opening their 2025 seasons with impressive road wins, Hutchinson Community College and Garden City Community College have each had players named Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Football Players of the Week with Blue Dragon Christian Johnson and Broncbusters Greg Johnson and Donovan Moore earning their first honors of the year.
Christian Johnson (Hutchinson) – KJCCC Football Offensive Player of the Week
Sophomore quarterback Christian Johnson completed 77.8 percent of his passes and tied a Hutchinson Blue Dragon Opening-Day record with five touchdown passes as top-ranked Hutchinson rolled to a 76-8 season-opening win at New Mexico Military on Saturday. Johnson completed 14 of 18 passes for a career-high 237 yards and threw touchdown passes of 62, 14, 18, 22, and 24 yards. Johnson played only one series into the third quarter.
Greg Johnson (Garden City) – KJCCC Football Defensive Player of the Week
Greg Johnson sparked Garden City's defense in a 42-27 road win over number four Navarro on Saturday, finishing with seven tackles and two interceptions in the Broncbusters' season-opening win.
Donovan Moore (Garden City) – KJCCC Football Special Teams Player of the Week
Donovan Moore gave Garden City a momentum swing in Saturday's 42-27 road win over number four Navarro, returning the opening kickoff of the second half 100 yards for a touchdown, putting GCCC up 28-10.
