KJCCC FOOTBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK - WEEK 7
Players from Highland, Coffeyville and Hutchinson were named Week 8 Jayhawk Conference Football Players of the Week.
Highland running back Kason Jones was named the league's Offensive Player of the Week after a big game against Ellsworth. Coffeyville defenisve back Amir Renwick was a force in the Red Ravens victory over No. 7 Iowa Central. Hutchinson freshman kicker Cole Segraves had a career day in the No. 2 Blue Dragons' 47-14 win over Dodge City.
KASON JONES, Highland - Offensive Player of the Week
The freshman from Birmingham, Alabama, rushed for 174 yards on 28 carries with two touchdowns and caught three passes for 21 yards to lead the Scotties to their first win of the season in a 37-27 victory over Ellsworth. The 174 rushing yards were the most since Ron Dupree ran for 187 yards against Haskell University in 1965. Jones had 195 all-purpose yards against Ellsworth with two rushing touchdowns.

AMIR RENWICK, Coffeyville - Defensive Player of the Week
Red Raven sophomore defensive back Amir Renwick wreaked havoc against the seventh-ranked Iowa Central Tritons. In the ranked matchup, Renwick had 14 total tackles (seven solo) along with 2.5 sacks, an interception and three pass breakups. Renwick was the leader of a Coffeyville defense that kept the No. 1 NJCAA scoring offense of Iowa Central 14 points under its season average.

COLE SEGRAVES, Hutchinson - Special Teams Player of the Week
Blue Dragon freshman kicker Cole Segraves had career highs for number of field goals and a long field goal in No. 2 Hutchinson's 47-14 road victory over Dodge City on Saturday. Segraves, a freshman from Maize, was 4 of 4 on field goals, making from 35, 33, 45 and a career-long 46 yards. He was also 5-5 on extra points for a career single-game high 17 points. Segraves is the first kicker since Kevin Coleman in 2004 to have four made field goals in a single game.
