KJCCC FOOTBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK - WEEK 2
Players from Hutchinson and Butler Community Colleges were tapped in Week 2 of the junior college football season as KJCCC Players of the Week.
After a 70-7 win at Ellsworth on Saturday, Hutchinson's Rontavious Richmond was named the league's Offensive Player of the Week and Darby Roper was named the Special Teams Player of the Week. Butler defensive lineman Caleb Foster was the KJCCC's Defensive Player of the Week after the Grizzlies' 45-3 win at Highland.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Rontavious Richmond, Hutchinson
Hutchinson freshman running back Rontavious Richmond accounted for three touchdowns – two rushing, one receiving – to pace the No. 3-ranked Hutchinson Community College football team to a 70-7 road win at Ellsworth. Richmond, a 5-foot-9, 181-pound freshman rom Shreveport, Louisiana, had only eight carries but went for 158 yards, scoring rushing touchdowns of 64 and 75 yards. Richmond also had two receptions, including a 15-yard touchdown in the first quarter to give the Dragons a 14-0 lead.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Caleb Foster, Butler
Caleb Foster, freshman defensive lineman from Millbrook, AL, was huge for the Grizzlies up front in Butler's 45-3 win over Highland. Foster and the Butler defense held the Scotties to just 81 total yards of offense, an average of 1.4 yards per play and kept them to just 1 of 18 on third downs. Foster had three tackles in the win with two of those being quarterback sacks for a loss of 19 yards. He forced a fumble, had a quarterback hurry and also broke up a pass in the game.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Darby Roper, Hutchinson
Hutchinson redshirt freshman punt returner Darby Roper scored his first career touchdown with a 32-yard return to open the scoring in No. 3 Hutchinson's 70-7 victory over Ellsworth on Saturday. Roper had five returns for an average of 9.8 yards per return.
