KJCCC FOOTBALL Athletes of the Week, Week 9

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
DEZMON JACKSON, HUTCHINSON

Hutchinson sophomore running back Dezmon Jackson had his fourth-straight 100-yard game and his sixth-straight game with at least one touchdown as No. 4 Hutchinson routed Dodge City 45-7 on Saturday. Jackson rushed for 157 yards on 17 carries with touchdown runs of 81 and 24 yards. Jackson now has five touchdowns of 50 or more yards this season. This is Jackson's third-straight Offensive Player of the Week award.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
MONTY MONTGOMERY, HUTCHINSON

Blue Dragon freshman linebacker Monty Montgomery scored two defensive touchdowns as No. 4 Hutchinson rolled by Dodge City 45-7 on Saturday at Dodge City. Montgomery first stripped a Dodge City back of the ball, literally taking the right out of the player's hands and returning it 20 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter. Montgomery then had a 25-yard interception return for a score early in the third quarter to put the game out of reach. Montgomery now has three defensive touchdowns in the last two games. This is Montgomery's second-straight Player of the Week award.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
TY ZENTNER, BUTLER

Ty Zentner twice pinned Fort Scott at its own 1-yard line with punts in the first half of Butler's 35-14 win. He averaged 45 yards a kick, with a long of 56 yards. All four were dropped inside the 20-yard line. He also had touchbacks on three of his six kickoff and was perfect on five extra point kicks. This is Zentner's second-straight Player of the Week award.
