Wichita, KS - Two former athletic standouts in the KJCCC were inducted in to the Kansas Sports Hall of Fame on Sunday, Oct, 4, 2015.  Terry Beeson and Troy Morrell were honored at the Induction ceremony in Wichita.

Beeson and Morrell, along with nine other 2015 inductees, addressed an overflow crowd.  Welcoming remarks were made by Wichita Mayor Jeff Longwell, and Bruce Steinbrock, Washburn University, served as Master of Ceremonies.  Also in attendance were many notables from the Kansas sports scene, including Max Falkenstein, Bob Hanson, Dick Foster, Bob Chipman, and KJCCC commissioner Bryce Roderick.

Terry Beeson played collegiately at the University of Kansas, and was drafted in the second round of the 1977 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks.  Beeson played in the NFL and the USFL through the 1985 season, and was named the athletic director at Coffeyville Community College in 1990.  He was AD there until 2000.

Atwood KS. native Troy Morrell played at Buhler High School, Butler Community College, and Fort Hays State University, but is best known as one of the winningest college coaches in football history.  Morrell won two NJCAA national championships as offensive coordinator for the Grizzlies, and won three more national titles during his tenure as head coach of the El Dorado program.  Here are his head coaching numbers : a 154-22 record, three national championships, 12 KJCCC titles, 10 NJCAA Region VI titles, and 13 bowl game appearances in 15 years.

Commissioner Roderick attended the ceremony, and congratulated Beeson and Morrell on their awards.
