CHARLOTTE, NC - Hitting a home run in four of five games last week and extending his hitting streak to 19 straight games, Hutchinson Community College utility player Elias Duncan has been named the NJCAA Division 1 Baseball National Player of the Week.

Blue Dragon second baseman/utility player Elias Duncan had a big week and extended his hitting streak to 19 games in a 4-1 week for number 11-ranked Hutchinson. For the week, Duncan hit .563 (nine for 16) with four home runs and 12 RBI. The sophomore had a five-RBI game against Southeast and homered in four of the five games played. In addition to his home runs, Duncan had two doubles and a triple. Duncan slugged 1.563 for the week and is now tied for the fourth-longest hitting streak in Blue Dragon history. Duncan is now the seventh player in eight weeks to earn NJCAA Division 1 Baseball national accolades from the KJCCC this season.
