COLBY, Kan. – After earning a second-straight Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Baseball West Division Pitcher of the Week award, Cloud County Community College pitcher Cohen Nelson has been named the NJCAA Division 1 Baseball Pitcher of the Week.

Cloud County sophomore Cohen Nelson moved to 3-0 on the season after leading the T-Birds to an 8-1 win over Butler Community College in KJCCC play on April 11. For the third straight start, Nelson limited a KJCCC opponent to one run and matched a season-high and career-high with 11 strikeouts for the second consecutive outing. Nelson, returning from an early-season injury, is third on the Cloud County pitching staff with 40 strikeouts in just 21.0 innings pitched. He has a team-leading 1.29 ERA and is holding opposing hitters to a .116 batting average.
