KJCCC Baseball East Division Players of the Week - Week 5
COLBY, Kan. – A series win for both Highland Community College and Johnson County Community College were led by the week five Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Baseball East Division Players of the Week, Noah Bishiop and Liam Roche.
Noah Bishop - Highland (KJCCC Baseball East Division Player of the Week)
Noah Bishop had a strong week at the plate for Highland with nine hits, including three doubles and a home run. His leadership on the field helped the Scotties pick up their first series win of the season, taking three games from Northeast Iowa Community College. The sophomore had at least one hit in six of eight games that he appeared in throughout the week, recording a .522 on-base percentage and recording seven putouts defensively.
Liam Roche – Johnson County (KJCCC Baseball East Division Pitcher of the Week)
Liam Roche helped number four Johnson County claim its fifth consecutive series, earning a 4-3 victory in the opening game of a four-game set against number 13 Iowa Western. The left-hander allowed four hits and two runs (one earned) over five innings of work while striking out a season-high nine batters. With the victory, Roche improved to 3-0 and now has 32 strikeouts over 19 innings pitched.
