Johnson County's Colin Coonradt Named NJCAA D1 Baseball Player of the Week
CHARLOTTE, NC – For the third time this season, a Johnson County Community College baseball player has earned NJCAA Division 1 Baseball Player of the Week awards as Cavalier player Colin Coonradt has picked up week five accolades for his performance during a four-game sweep of Highland Community College.
Colin Coonradt – Johnson County (NJCAA D1 Baseball Division 1 Player of the Week) Colin Coonradt helped the number two-ranked Cavaliers to their sixth straight series sweep, hitting .727 (8-for-11) with five home runs, five walks, nine runs scored, and eight RBI in JCCC's conference opening series. The sophomore opened the series with two home runs and three RBI in an 8-0 win and followed with another two-homer, three RBI effort in a 22-2 romp in game two. Back at JCCC on Saturday, Coonradt hit his fifth homer in three games and drove in two in a 10-0 victory. For the season, Coonradt is tied for first in the KJCCC in home runs (11), second in extra-base hits (19) and RBI (24), third in batting average (.453) and doubles (7), and fifth in runs scored (27).
