KJCCC East Player of the Week: Brody Szako – Fort Scott Community College
During this week's conference series, Brody Szako's 4 home run effort helped him tie the record for most career homeruns with 34. This weekend also leaped him in into 2nd in the country in HR's. .Szako hit .563 in the series (9-for-16), scored eight runs and drove in 12 for the Greyhounds.
KJCCC East Pitcher of the Week: John James – Allen Community College
Allen freshman left-handed pitcher John James led us to our only win of the series against Neosho CC. He threw a CG 3H 8K 2BB shutout against a team that is currently ranked top 20 in the country with a .344 team batting average, and has over a .600 team SLG %. James has been by far our most consistent pitcher. His season stats are now: 33.2 IP 20H 8R 5ER 10BB 39K and he currently has a 1.34 ERA on the season which ranks him 9th in the country.
