KJCCC East Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week, Week 5
KJCCC East Player of the Week: Tregan Hyder – Labette Community College
Labette sophomore leftfielder hit .625 (10-for-16) with four doubles, three home runs, four walks, 12 runs scored and 13 RBI while lead the Ravens to a series victory over Carl Albert State. In the third game of the series, Hyder was 5-for-5 with a double, three homers and nine RBI. His nine RBI tie the third most in a game in conference history. In the final game, he scored five total runs, which ties the second most in game in KJCCC history.
KJCCC East Pitcher of the Week: Ricardo Hernandez – Coffeyville Community College
Coffeyville freshman pitcher Ricardo Hernandez threw a complete game win in game three for the Ravens, to push his record to 3-0 on the year. He was very efficient in only throwing 61 pitches for the game with 43 of them being strikes, and getting the leadoff hitter out to start all 7 innings. He helped propel the Ravens to a series split and set the tone for the day.
