KJCCC West Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week, Week 3
KJCCC West Player of the Week: Danny Infante – Cloud County Community College
Cloud County second baseman Danny Infante put together a strong opening week at the plate, hitting .520 with a .594 on-base percentage with 13 total hits and four walks. Opening the week with four hits in a doubleheader sweep at Kansas Wesleyan JV, Infante would add another five hits in two games at the UCO JUCO Fest in Edmond, Oklahoma while driving in three runs to allow CCCC to split their games with a win over Eastern Oklahoma State and extra-innings defeat to Northern Oklahoma-Enid. Over the weekend in a three-game series with #5 ranked Crowder, Infante would go 4-8 at the plate including a 3-4 performance in game two that included a grand slam to lead the T-Birds with 5 RBI in a 12-3 win over the Roughriders. Through seven games this season, Infante leads Cloud County in batting average, hits, doubles, home runs, and RBI.
KJCCC West Pitcher of the Week: Tristan Wolf – Dodge City Community College
Dodge City baseball travel to Oklahoma for action and picked up a win over Rose State on the trip with Tristan Wolf leaving his fingerprints all over the win. Tristan Wolf started the contest and tossed six scoreless innings to earn the win giving up just two hits and one walk, while striking out six. On the season Wolf has made three starts tossing 14.1 innings giving up 17 hits and only four walks, while striking out 16 with a 1-1 record. Wolf moved to first in career strikeouts in school history with 131 strikeouts and is now seventh in career innings pitched at 126.
