(KJCCC)  Wichita - Brylie Ware, Neosho County, and Brynn Minor, Butler, were the winners of the Junior College Male and Female Athletes of the Year at the 19^th annual Greater Wichita Sports Banquet held Thursday, June 30 at Century II Exhibition Hall.

NJCAA Division I Baseball Player of the Year Brylie Ware was also the KJCCC Player of the Year, and Minor led her softball squad to the NJCAA Division I national championship. Both were present to receive their awards in front of the Wichita sporting community and media members.

A highlight of the night was Johnny Bench, former Cincinnati Reds catcher and Major League Hall of Famer, presenting the BaseballSavings.com Johnny Bench National Collegiate Catcher of the Year Award to the University of Miami's Zack Collins.

Former Major League Baseball catcher Jim Sundberg, who was a three-time All-Star, six-time Gold Glove winner, and member of the 1985 World Series-winning Kansas City Royals, was the evening's keynote speaker.

The annual banquet recognizes the achievements and dedication of local youth, high school, college and professional athletes and coaches.
