(Cowley Sports Information)  Unstoppable! The third-seeded Cowley College baseball team continued its incredible terror in the Region VI Tournament with an 8-2 win over sixth-seeded Johnson County in the championship game. With the win, the Tigers advance to the Alpine Bank JUCO World Series in Grand Junction, CO May 28-June 4.

Cowley will face second-ranked San Jacinto-North (TX) in the first round of the World Series Sunday at 8:30 p.m. Central Standard Time in Grand Junction, CO. If Cowley wins its opening game it will play again Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. If they were to lose, they will play Tuesday at noon.

The Tigers enter the JUCO World Series on a 15-game winning streak and are 44-16 on the season. Other teams at the tournament are San Jacinto-North (48-10), Darton State (GA), Harford (MD), Santa Fe (FL), Iowa Western, Delgado (LA), Cisco (TX), Yavapai (AZ), and top-ranked Chattahoochee Valley (AL). The NJCAA will be streaming games 1-17 at www.njcaatv.com. The national championship games of the Alpine Bank Junior College World Series will be broadcast live in HD across computers and mobile devices on MLB.com, the official website of Major League Baseball.

Starting with Cowley's throttling of Butler Community College in the Region VI sub-regional, the Tigers out-scored its opponents 54-5 en route to the region title.

During Cowley's 15-game winning streak the Tigers have outscored their opponents 135-29 to improve to 44-16 on the season.
