Eric Escamilla had a big week for the Pratt Beavers at the plate. In six games, Escamilla batted 11 for 19 for an average of .579. During that span Escamilla had 13 runs and 13 RBIs. The highlight of his week was hitting four home runs.
Mike Brown tossed Hutchinson's second complete game of seven or more innings this season. The game was Hutch's first shutout of the season. Brown needed 79 total pitches to complete his first career shutout. He struck out five and walked none. Brown allowed a leadoff double to start the third inning and a one-out single in the fourth that was erased with an inning-ending double play. Brown finished off the gem by retiring the final 10 Broncbusters he faced.
Johnson County Community College sophomore right-hander Brad Kincaid notched his sixth win of the season, pitching a one-hit shutout over Allen on April 5. He allowed a double and walked two while striking out 10 batters. He has tallied 70 strikeouts on the season, fourth most in the conference.
