Commissioner Bryce Roderick has announced his retirement, effective June 30, 2018 - The Presidents and the conference are seeking applications for the position of Commissioner, Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC)  The Commissioner serves as the primary spokesperson for the Conference, the primary liaison to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), and a liaison between the Presidents,  Athletic Directors, Coaches and groups associated with each sport. The Commissioner will assure appropriate officiating for all sports, and provide overall administrative leadership and management for the KJCCC.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required and a working knowledge of NJCAA

• Minimum of five years of senior administrative experience in intercollegiate athletics

• Strong interpersonal and decision-making skills, an ability to effectively communicate and build relationships

with internal and external constituents within the KJCCC, other member conferences, the NJCAA national office and beyond

• Strong background in fiscal management and contract negotiations

 Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in athletics administration or related field (Master’s, Doctorate or Juris Doctorate)

• Experience as a Director of Athletics within institution or Commissioner or Associate Commissioner within a Conference.

Fort Scott Community College is seeking a Head Cross Country/Track and Field Coach Bachelor’s Degree required.   Master’s Degree preferred.  Recruiting experience preferred.  Coaching experience at high school, community college, or college level.  Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, students, and general public.  Familiar with NJCAA, KJCCC rules and regulations preferred.  Familiar with community college philosophy and goals.  Have knowledge of and be able to implement procedures regarding Bloodborne Pathogens laws and regulations.  Valid driver’s license.  DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Coach the team.  Fundraise all scholarship monies.  Recruiting of student athletes.  Work within parameters of budget and administration of budget.  Game preparation and competition preparation.  Coordinate the recruitment, management, and supervision of student athletes.  Perform administrative duties.  Promote active personal and team participation in activities within the community.  Work-study supervision.  Oversee classroom attendance and academic progress of team members.  Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.

Part-time Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach position available at Highland Community College, Highland, Kansas, a member of the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference and NJCAA Region VI Division II. This is a part-time unpaid position; however, room and board may be available at no cost to the selected candidate. There are subbing opportunities at local area K-12 schools for money-making opportunities. Bachelor’s degree required. This position will assist during practices and at home and away games. It is designed to provide a realistic and meaningful experience in a very successful program for an individual who has a passion for making coaching their career. Labette Community College is seeking a Head Volleyball Coach.  This coach is charged with the recruitment, supervision, and placement of students who are skilled in the areas of competitive amateur volleyball at the college level. As an integral part of a well-rounded program, the sport requires that the coach cover areas of support to the volleyball students on and off the court. The coach acts as a liaison between student athletes, the community and the school.   Qualifications and Experience :  A minimum of a bachelor degree is required, with a master’s degree preferred. One to two years of coaching and or playing experience. Seward County Community College is seeking a  Full-Time Head Cheer and Dance Coach. Responsible for administration of the cheerleading and dance program.  Including planning events, developing training, and managing of the team.
